For Spelling Errors:
1. I do a spell check.
2. Apple's native spell checker locates misspelled word.
3. I correct it.
4. I do a grammar check.
5. Apple's native grammar checker highlights that last previously misspelled word, which was located and already corrected, instead of pulling up a blank Spelling and Grammar window while making the "Funk" sound that occurs in an app like Pages to indicate no more spelling errors are there.
6. If I do decide to click "Change" on the highlighted word that is already corrected, it replaces it with whatever selection I choose from the word list in the bottom text field.
For Grammar Errors
1. I write a fragment statement
2. I press "Cmd + :" or select "Check Spelling and Grammar"
3. I select the check box "Check grammar" in the Spelling/Grammar window that pops up.
4. I click on "Find Next" and no notes show up, as in Pages.
5. I highlight the fragment and click "Change" and "Find Next" - nothing
happens as well.
Note: The only Spelling and Grammar option I have selected during this process is "Correct Spelling Automatically"
It's as if the misspelled word is cached in the Desk system? I don't know the dev lingo yet, but I hope the workflows sort of explain it.
